Flow Tapping
Many times our stuck emotional issues are due to
the number of different troublesome aspects we feel about a situation. Dealing with these on your own can be slightly "challenging" (to put
it politely.) Based on journalling, this is my new gentle way to access and quickly resolve such layers that are clogging our emotional
plumbing...without the help of a therapist. Particularly useful when all other approaches have failed.
Many of you will have read and used some form of
journalling technique, i.e. a freeform writing of your thoughts on an emotionally troublesome issue. It helps wonderfully to access, feel
and release trapped emotions about a subject and this is no different in EFT.
As a quicker, often more comfortable way of
releasing such feelings, try it with EFT thus:
- Tune in to the troublesome issue in question –
See the picture in your mind of what happened, what they said,
etc and recall the event in full. See what you saw, hear what you heard, etc.
- Whilst tapping continuously round all the points, and starting with just the first moment of what happened,
begin an out-loud monologue, completely uncensored, of ALL of your thoughts on the issue, including what you REALLY want to say to
anyone involved. Let it flow unedited and unabridged, verbal diarrhoea here is wonderful.
- Once you have exhausted your thoughts and feelings
about this specific moment, move forward in time to the next
troublesome moment of the event. Tune in, continue tapping, and continue the monologue once more.
- Repeat for each moment of the event or until you feel sufficient
release.
This is a great way to access and release certain
pictures that refuse to budge emotionally, and helps you release the need to “get it right”, use the right language setup, etc. and thereby
have greater access to the underlying feelings.
